History
The Widget Woods was located somewhere on the planet Eternia, possibly near the Evergreen Forest. It was the home of the race known as the Widgets, who primarily occupied the Widget Fortress. The Widget Woods also included the Widget Mines, which contained the valuable mineral known as Coridite. This was the material used in the construction of He-Man's harness and helped to enhance his power. Skeletor coveted the Coridite for similar purposes and journeyed through the Widget Woods upon Panthor. He summoned Beast Man and Mer-Man, who flew above the treeline in the Basher. [1]
Points of Interest
- Widget Fortress
- This was a castle keep nestled in the heart of the Widget Woods. It was manned by the Widgets, two of which, Kando & Squinch, served as castle guards. Skeletor sent Beast Man and Mer-Man to the castle to invade it. They scaled the side of the fortress, but Kando and Squinch managed to repel them by pouring hot oil down the side of the castle walls. Later, Skeletor engaged He-Man in battle on the grounds surrounding the castle. Later still, Evil-Lyn infiltrated the castle disguised as a troubled maiden.
- Widget Mines
- The Widget Mines ran beneath the Widget Fortress in the Widget Woods on the planet Eternia. It was maintained by the gnome-like race known as Widgets, who mined the precious mineral Coridite. Skeletor and the Evil Warriors attempted to raid the Widget Fortress to gain access to the mines, but were repulsed by He-Man. Later, Evil-Lyn used her sorcery to trick the Widgets into giving her access to the Coridite, but she was ultimately defeated.
