Vastra is a fictional alien detective and a recurring character featured on the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Played by actress Neve McIntosh, she first appeared in "A Good Man Goes to War" from season six of the revival series.
Overview
Vastra was a member of the alien race known as the Silurians. She was living in London, England in the 19th century. She was the wife to Earth woman known as Jenny Flint. Along with their servant, the gruff Sontaran named Strax, they became frequent allies of the eleventh iteration of the time-traveling adventurer known as The Doctor. Vastra, Jenny, and Strax, befriended the Doctor's companion, Clara Oswald as well, and journeyed to aid the Doctor on Trenzalore. The three of them also had encounters with the Twelfth Doctor.
