Alphan is a phrase used in the British 1970s science fiction series Space: 1999. It refers to the personnel of Moonbase Alpha, who were trapped inside the base after it was propelled into outer space following an explosion on Earth's moon that broke Earth's moon from its orbit. The crew of Moonbase Alpha, as well as their families have taken to referring to themselves as Alphans.
