In addition, the tower has been used as treasury and an armory.

Doctor Who (2005)

On the British science fiction television series Doctor Who, the Tower of London became the headquarters for UNIT. The head of UNIT's Tower of London branch was Major Richard Blake. When the alien Sycorax began their surreptitious invasion of the planet Earth, Major Blake had government minister's Harriet Jones and Daniel Llewellyn brought to the Tower of London where they were briefed on the protocols for dealing with possible hostile alien invaders. [1]

UNIT's head of scientific research, Kate Lethbridge-Stewart summoned the Eleventh Doctor to the Tower of London where he learned that she was the daughter of his old colleague, Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart. After a bit of small talk and reminiscing about the Brigadier, Kate Stewart began working with the Doctor to unravel the mystery of a series of black Shakri cubes that demonstrated bizarre properties once every forty-seven minutes. This incident has since come to be known as the "Year of the Slow Invasion". [2]

Shortly thereafter, Kate Stewart summoned the Doctor for an emergency meeting and even had the audacity of air-lifting the TARDIS to the Tower of London - a feat that was not greatly appreciated by the Doctor. [3]
