Stephen King is an American novelist, screen and teleplay writer and film producer. He was born in Portland, Maine on September 21st, 1947. King is best known by his works in the horror and supernatural fantasy genres and has been immortalized due to his New York Times best-selling works such as Carrie, Cujo, Christine and The Shining. Many of King's works have been adapted into film and television. Two ongoing TV programs based on King novels include The Dead Zone, which starred Anthony Michael Hall and aired on the USA Network from 2002 to 2007 as well as Haven, which loosely adapts his 2005 novel The Colorado Kid and began airing on Syfy in 2010.
