Robin Howell is a minor character featured in the NBC supernatural crime drama series Grimm. Played by actress Sophia Mitri Schloss, she appeared in the pilot episode of the show.
Biography
Robin Howell was a young girl who lived with her mother and grandfather at 4753 Hildabrand Road in Portland, Oregon. While walking to school one day, her red sweater caught the attention of a passing postman, who also happened to be a supernatural serial killing werewolf known as a Blutbad. The postman abducted Robin as she was crossing through Berkeley Park on her way to school.
Homicide detectives Nick Burkhardt and Hank Griffin were assigned to the search party as the abduction bore similarities to a murder that had taken place on Sweetbriar Trail the previous evening. They found Robin Howell's backpack in the woods. Burkhardt connected the two crimes together by the fact that the postman's previous victim, Sylvie Oster, also wore a red sweater.
The postman had already devoured Sylvie Oster's remains and was not quite ready to feed again. He brought Robin back to a cabin in the woods where he kept her locked up in a secret room in the basement. He offered to make her a chicken pot pie with the hopes of fattening her up. Detectives Burkhardt and Griffin tracked the postman down and he was killed while trying to escape. Nick discovered the secret entrance to the locked room and rescued Robin. [1]

- The character of Robin Howell was created by Jim Kouf and David Greenwalt.
- The dynamic between Robin Howell and her connection to the postman is an allusion to the fairytale of "Little Red Riding Hood", a French children's story whose origins date back as far as the 10th century. The most familiar version however, written by the Brothers Grimm was published in the 17th century. Both of the postman's victims in this episode are wearing red sweaters or "hoodies".
- Robin Howell's name has the same initials as Riding Hood and her surname may also refer to a wolf's howl.
