Nancy Barrett is an American actress and singer born in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 5th, 1943. She spent the majority of her early years growing up in Oklahoma, but relocated to Waco, Texas where she attended school at Baylor University.

Career

Nancy Barrett is best known for playing the role of Carolyn Stoddard on the 1960s ABC gothic soap opera Dark Shadows. Barrett appeared on a total of 402 episodes of the series, playing multiple characters in addition to Carolyn Stoddard. She also played the role of 18th century ancestor Millicent Collins in twenty-five episodes of the series. She played a character named Charity Trask in forty-three episodes during the "1840 Flashback" story-arc. She played Leticia Faye in twenty-one episodes and Melanie Collins in twenty-seven episodes during the 1841 Parallel Time storyline.

In 1976, Nancy Barrett played Faith Coleridge on nine episodes of the ABC soap opera Ryan's Hope. She was the second actress to play the role, the first being Faith Caitlin, who began playing the character with the very first episode. Barrett only appeared in nine episodes of the show however. She departed from the series citing that she was unhappy with the role she was playing.
