Miles lived in Alexandria, Virginia and was a member of a group called the Saviors. Along with his colleagues, Roman and Jiro, he encountered Carol Peletier on the road after she had decided to leave her group. The three of them accosted Carol, who held them off at gunpoint. During the incident, Miles was impaled by a sharpened wooden pole that was attached to Carol's car. After he died, Carol took his gun.
