Doctor Mentaur is a fictional mad scientist and a one-time antagonist featured in the Birdman and the Galaxy Trio animated television series from 1967. He was voiced by an unknown actor and made a single appearance in the third vignette from episode eight, "Birdman Meets Birdgirl".
Biography
Mentaur was a mad scientist who used his intellect and resources in a plot to get revenge against the agents of Inter-Nation Security. He abducted Judy Ken Sebben and used hypnosis to convert her into a loyal agent. He outfitted her with the costume and name of Birdgirl. Mentaur sent Birdgirl out and had her take credit for heroic deeds committed by Inter-Nation agent Birdman.
Mentaur had Birdgirl steal a hydrogen bomb and used this tactic to lure Birdman into a trap. When Birdman was cut off from sunlight, he lost the use of his powers, but he was able to break through Birdgirl's mental conditioning and she agreed to help him track down Doctor Mentaur. [1]
Doctor Mentaur was caught in an explosion that was caused by a defective shell and seemingly died. He has not been seen since, and is likely deceased.
