Max Black is one of the two main co-stars of the CBS comedy series 2 Broke Girls. She is played by actress Kat Dennings and was introduced in the series' pilot episode.
Overview
Max Black is a young European-American woman in her early to mid-twenties who works as a waitress at the Williamsburg Diner in Brooklyn, New York. Having grown up in a poor and broken household with an inattentive mother and no father figure, Max developed into a sassy, streetwise woman, whose demeanor is governed by a shield of bravado to mask her inward insecurities. Max's best friend and roommate is Caroline Channing, a former heiress who fell upon hard times after her father was sent to prison for embezzling money. In addition to earning a pittance at the Williamsburg Diner, Max and Caroline have launched their own cupcake baking business to supplement their meager income.
