Martha Kent is a fictional housewife and a supporting character featured in the licensed works of DC Comics. She is associated with the Superman multimedia franchise and has appeared in different forms of media and portrayed by different actresses.
Overview
Martha Kent is a middle-aged (sometimes elderly) human woman who lived in the town of Smallville. She was the wife of Jonathan Kent and the adoptive mother of Kal-El, whom she named Clark Kent. Martha and Jonathan instilled strong moral values in their son, which ultimately paved the way for him to take on the mantle of the costumed hero, Superman .
