Joseph William Stefano was a television writer, developer and supervising producer. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on May 5th, 1922. He wrote the teleplay for the "Skin of Evil" episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, which is notable for the killing off of one of it's regular characters, Tasha Yar. He was one of the developers in charge of production on the 1990-1993 comic book heroic fantasy series Swamp Thing.
Joseph Stefano passed away in Thousand Oaks, California on August 25th, 2006 at the age of 88.
