Jake Abernathy is a fictional businessman featured on the A&E television series Bates Motel. Played by actor Jere Burns, he served as a key antagonist in season one of the show, appearing in three episodes in the second half of the season.
Overview
Jake Abernathy is an alias used by a man who was the senior partner of an Asian sex slave opertion in White Pine Bay, Oregon. Jake acted as the financier of the three-man group with Deputy Zack Shelby providing legal cover for their affairs and Seafairer Motel owner Keith Summers, who supplied the venue through which their operations could take place. Following the death of Keith Summers, Jake Abernathy returned to White Pine Bay after doing business down the coast, but his enterprise hit a snag when he found the motel's new owner, Norma Bates, was not nearly as cooperative as her predecessor.
