Chantho is a fictional alien featured in the British science fiction television series Doctor Who. Played by actress Chipo Chung, she appeared in episode eleven of series three of the revival series, "Utopia".
Biography
Chantho was a member of the Malmooth race from the planet Malcassairo. She was actually the last member of her race. She worked as an assistant to Professor Yana on the Utopia Project. Chantho had a distinctive speech pattern in that she began every sentence with "Chan" and ended every sentence with "Tho". As she revealed to Martha Jones, failure to speak with these prefixes and suffixes would be considered rude.
After Yana regained his memories and realized that he was in fact a renegade Time Lord known as The Master, he shot and killed Chantho, thus bringing the Malmooth race to complete extinction.
