Cardassians are an alien race featured in the Star Trek multimedia franchise. Though they were first introduced in the fourth season of Star Trek: The Next Generation in the episode called "The Wounded". The Cardassians really came into their own in the spin-off series Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, where they served as the central antagonists throughout the series. Notable Cardassians include Gul Dukat, a major adversary in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and Garak, a friendly tailor who resides aboard Deep Space Nine, whose true motives are a mystery to everyone but Garak himself.

- Actress Judi M. Durand provided the voice for the Cardassian computer on Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In this capacity, it could be said that she was the counterpart to Majel Barrett who, in addition to playing numerous characters, was also the voice of the starship computer systems on all of the major Star Trek programs.
