Three Battlestars.

Three Battlestars.

Battlestar is a classification of warship featured in the Battlestar Galactica multimedia franchise. Battlestars were space-faring capital ships and the first line of defense utilized by the Twelve Colonies of Man. The most well-known of Battlestars was the Galactica, which served as the principal setting for both the original series, it's short-lived spin-off Galactica 1980, and Ronald D. Moore's 2003 Battlestar Galactica television miniseries and the 2004 Battlestar Galactica regular series.

Battlestars were first seen in the three-part pilot movie of the original series, "Saga of a Star World". In addition to the Galactica, the first installment also presented the Battlestar Atlantia, which was the ship that carried the members of the Quorum of the Twelve and President Adar, as well as the Acropolis, the Pacifica and the Triton. Another Battlestar, the Pegasus, was introduced in the two-part episode "The Living Legend" and was commanded by a veteran soldier named Cain, played by Lloyd Bridges. The Pegasus was also re-imagined in Ronald D. Moore's iteration of the show where the role of Commander Cain was played by actress Michelle Forbes.
