Marvel Cinematic Universe
"Agnes" was an alias utilized by the 17th century witch known as Agatha Harkness. She used this identity while existing in the town of Westview, New Jersey, which had been recreated by Wanda Maximoff as a perfect picturesque community. Agatha adopted the identity and personality of being the aloof nosy neighbor who was always full of pluckiness and an endless string of quick-witted phrases. As Agnes, she silently manipulated Wanda into using her power more and more, for it was Wanda's innate aptitude with witchcraft that Agatha coveted. As Wanda began to accept the truth about what was going on with Westview, Agatha dropped the "Agnes" persona and addressed Wanda in her true form.
Umbrella Academy
Agnes was a waitress at a doughnut shop. She was present the day that a young boy known as Number Five used his skills to slaughter a group of Temps Commission agents that had come into the shop to sanction him. Fortunately for Agnes, she remained in the back of the shop, and did not really witness the spectacle. Another Temp Commission agent, Hazel, struck up a romantic accord with Agnes, and convinced her to quit her job to pursue her dreams.
