2091 is the ninety-first year of the 21st century. As this year exists some distance in the forseeable future, all events relating to this year are associated with the science fiction genre.

2091 played a vital role in season five of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on ABC. The events of that season take place some seventy years following the events of the modern era. As a result of Daisy Johnson losing control of her shock wave generation abilities, the Earth suffered traumatic geological upheaval, earning her the nickname of "The Destroyer".

By the year 2091, a Kree opportunist named Kasius took control of The Lighthouse and used it as ground zero further experiments involving Inhuman terrigenesis. Surviving Earthlings were relegated to second class citizen status, and became fodder for Kasius' goals.
